Ms. Kimberly Scott

 

Kim Scott is thrilled to join the JT Barber Elementary family as the new Assistant Principal. With over 20 years in education and a decade in school administration, Ms. Scott brings extensive experience and a commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered environment. Ms. Scott has a passion for innovative instruction and community engagement. Previously serving as Assistant Principal at Creekside Elementary, Oaks Road Academy, and New Bern High School, Ms. Scott has a rich background in both teaching and leadership. She was honored as Craven County Schools Teacher of the Year in 2014, reflecting her dedication to educational excellence.

Ms. Scott holds a Master’s in School Administration from UNC-W and certifications in Elementary Education, Music, AIG, and School Principalship, with past National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Music. She is also a member of the district MTSS implementation team.
